I AM OFFERING ANOTHER HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER PROG / PSYCH ROCK VINYL LP RARITY FROM MY COLLECTION OF SIMILIAR ITEMS !! THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST PSYCH/GARAGE ALBUMS EVER MADE IN HOLLAND, IT WILL DEFINITELY BE IN THE TOP TEN BEST PSYCH ALBUMS EVER CONCEIVED!!!!!!THIS WAS ONLY EVER ISSUED IN HOLLAND.

This is a release that bolsters the already stunning original with some juicy, and thoroughly embryonic demos that includes the likes of their wonderful, utterly heartbreaking 1966 smash hit single ‘Lying All The Time’, and also the fiercely pounding, frantic punk-style offering, ‘If You Don’t Treat Me Right’. There’s a wealth of other tremendous fare on display too, such as a wholly thrilling instrumental pass of that dear, oddball forty-five ‘Strange Things Are Happening’. Here they sound full-bodied and incredibly robust, in fact in a word or three they are pure dead brilliant; the zooming, booming bass lines of Appie Rammers and enervating kit work of Leendert ‘Buzz’ Busch, and of course the all-out undisputed blaze of Ronnie Splinter’s highly-authoritative style of guitar playing. The heraldic vocals of Wally Tax too appear more urgent sounding than ever, at times they are by turns breathtaking and heartbreaking. I won’t go on and on giving you a blow-by-blow account of all the excellent songs that made up this astonishing first from the gutbucket punkoid fury of ‘Filthy Rich’ to the mesmerising and aching plea of ‘Tears Are Falling From My Eyes’, although of course I could… but I’ll just mention that, tacked onto the end of Side One, you’ll hear the greeting you would’ve received had you telephoned singer Wally Tax but not been able to catch him at home.  

 

Vinyl: VG+.  Although there are  a couple of light hairlines on each side, this album sounds fantastic due to the extremely heavy vinyl used. This is a quality pressing of this now insanely rare album issued by the cult RELAX label that was only very short lived.  The music is up there with the most far out sounds on the planet and truly the Dutch equivalent of the Kinks, Rolling Stones or Pretty Things and would have been more famous if they had originated from England.

. A must for any psych/prog crossover collector. Of course no skips, jumps or clicks. Only some light static mainly between the tracks but certainly not intrusive.

Sleeve: VG. A front and back laminated sleeve which has two small tears on the opening. Moderate edge wear but the spine is legible. This LP is ultra rare and I was very surprised that I found it at all. This is the first copy I have ever owned of this beauty. Outsiders albums and singles are hard to come by as they have many fans in Holland.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality prog album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find. I have twenty five years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!!
