Connecticut band Ovlov found inspiration in sifting through years of demos that they had accrued and developed the best bits for this second studio album of theirs. The band, who take influence from the likes of Rancid, Mew and Dinosaur Jr., hit a truly exceptional run of form, with the likes of 'Spright' a punishing, shoegaze-y slow burner that binds sweet melodies and quite mellow verses to their distorted escapades. Elsewhere, the snappy 'Short Morgan' feels like a homage to their love for mid 80s J Dinosaur Jr. and Built To Spill and feels like an authentic trip back in time. Ovlov took half a decade to release this follow up to their debut album but for fuzz rock this brilliant it was worth the wait.
