Description
Oliver Sain - Main Man
(Abet Records ABET 404 USA LP 1975)
This is a USA original LP pressing of this rare Funk LP. The sleeve is in great overall condition, but sadly the record is well played. It would definitely suit someone who has a very good record but a not so good sleeve.
It has a thick card sleeve & comes with its original company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. This is a very rare U.S. Funk-Jazz- Breaks LP.
Sleeve: There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the two corner tips at the sleeve opening. There is some light rubbing wear at the sleeve opening. NEAR EX condition. There are no seam splits & the spine is in near perfect condition.
Vinyl: As stated, the vinyl has, sadly, been well played. There are some mild to more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The sleeve has been kept in a PVC outer sleeve. This has left some light or mild marks predominately on one side of the vinyl. There are approximately 12-14 hairline marks. A couple are quite long (8-10 cm). The others vary in size from 1 cm to 7 cm in size. Fair+ condition. There is a small name on one label. Otherwise, they show mild spindle wear. The company paper inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is some light to very mild ringwear & fading. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. Side 1 plays Good overall & VG in some places. There are a few intermittent light, or very mild, clicks at the very start of the side. It then re-appears & then lasts for the majority of the track. It is not too obtrusive though. There is some more moderate crackle in places on the 3rd track on Side 1. There are also some light, or mild, intermittent clicks on the last track on Side 1 too. Otherwise, there is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.
Side 2 plays VG overall & VG+ in some places. There is a small mark that causes some intermittent light, or mild, clicks on the 1st track on Side 2. These do not last too long. Otherwise, there is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are a few light clicks on the 3rd track on Side 2. Again, these do not last too long. Neither side jumps or sticks on my system.
