Description
King Oliver's Jazz Band: Krooked Blues / Alligator Hop
78 rpm Gennett # 5274 from 1923 very very RARE !!!!
About 25 known copies ( info from 78 quarterly nr9 ) and most of those in a much lesser shape than this one. It must be one of the best copies around the condition of the disc is a fery nice V++ to E- and it plays great and looks stunning. I bought it about 3 years ago from a well known collector, I'm selling it because my musical tastes have been shifting more to late 20s jazz and Stringband stuff next to old blues that is.
I'm not a pro 78 seller but I know how to pack and ship the record without any problem I've been buying 78s by mail for years now so you can be sure the record will arrive savely. If there are any questions just mail me and I'll get back to you a.s.a.p. Sorry about the pics I'm not into this electronical stuff that much but the record has great labels and color and the record looks much better than on the photo's there is some dust on the shellac that the camera shows clearly but that cause i did not clean the record first but believe me it looks stunnig.
Thanks for looking
Rene
Here some info from the Rust dicography:
King Oliver: Cornet & Leader - Louis Armstrong: Cornet - Honore Dutrey: Trombone - Johnny Dodds: Clarinet - Stump Evans: C-Melody Saxophone - Lil Hardin: Piano - Johnny St Cyr: Banjo - Baby Dodds: Drums
Recorded on October 5 1923 in Richmond, Ind. Same session as Zulus Ball.....I'm not sure but I also believe this was the first record that L. Armstrong played a Solo on but I could be wrong on this.
