Om Kalsoum (who I think of as Om Kolsoum, but also as Umm Kulthumm and a ton of variants) to this album Les Chansons Éternelles - Volume VII on the French Les Artistes Arabes Associés. This is in beautiful played once condition, and plays great. Sleeve is also near mint. No one else at time of listing has one that is better than VG, this is fully near mint, no marks, clean labels. After a spoken introduction in Arabic by a younger woman, there are transcriptions of 3 78s each to sides 1 & 2. So we get to hear the Star of the Orient in her youthful fresh voice. I have a good few of her records as a big fan, including in every common format; cassettes, albums cds and 78s, and I find that some of the ones on Sono Cairo are at the wrong pitch, giving her a wrongly deep voice. On this she sounds just right, and to acquire all the tunes here on 78s would probably cost you hundreds!. Our ethos is to offer you best sounding analogue only pressings of vintage records. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
