Description

Hello again. OK let me go into as much detail about this record as possible. The first time I listed it, it didn't reach it's high reserve, however, I was offered over $100.00 by 3 different people after the close of auction. I did not accept. I relisted the 2nd time with no reserve and the high bidder paulramone816 was the winning bidder. After he won he wrote a letter telling me that 2 Monkees collectors had written him stating that it wasn't that rare and that I had given misinformation in my listing, so he would not be sending the funds, fine he does not deserve it. Let me give the history of this 45. 10 years ago at a record convetion in Los Angeles, I was Cruising around doing what I usually did, look for Monkees albums, 45s, memorabilia, etc, when I happened upon a smaller table of 45s. I had seen the guy before but had not talked to him. I looked through his 45s and found this Starship commercial 45 that I had never seen before,(I did own the promo) and the vendor stated that he had never seen a commercial release of this 45 either. After buying it, I ran into Gary Stroble (noted Monkees historian), who I would run into every other month at the show and we would talk Monkees. I showed him my find and he told me that he had never seen a commercial copy and that his promo copy only had the non-Monkee "Johnny B Goode" on both sides. I remembered this to be true because I myself had a promo copy with only the A-side on both sides. Gary while at the show asked if he could buy the 45 from me right there as he had never seen it, I declined. So it stayed in my collection until someone wanted to bootleg the song on CD, so I recorded it and sent the song, now I believe it to be the actual bootleg version on many of the CDs. So here I am again with this rare 45 up for auction. The reason I know of it's rarety is many reasons. I've never seen another and in my time I've owned 5 different MONO Birds, Bees And The Monkees (and still have a mint in shrink wrap) and every single solo Monkees single with the exception of Nesmiths "Wonderin'" / "Well Well" 45 which I personally offered George Gymark $1000.00 for and was respectfully declined. So here it is once again---the Starship 45 featuring Micky Dolenz's written and sang "It's Amazing To Me" on the B-side. The only commercial release of this 45 that I've ever seen. It was released on the Lion label and is in VG condition with only a skuff on the label. It's a nice piece and has been one of my favorites for a while. Don't be fooled by the "My Favorite Monkee Sings" which is actually very common, this is hard to find. Winning bidder to include $8.00 postage and I will insure. And yes I will send to Japan, and you can pay by international postal money order, however shpping will be more. Thanks and good luck, if you have any questions ask. And if you don't want it or you don't know what it is, PLEASE DON'T BID. GOOD LUCK!
