Description
Opeth 'Orchid' 2x LP picture disc Candlelight UK 2005 (Katatonia Borknagar). Record has never been played...I bought this at a local record store here in the Peoria, IL area back in 2008 and have had it in storage ever since. I also have the original thick clear plastic sleeve and will send it with the records. The records are shellac-coated picture discs (this is considered a limited 'collectors item' and not recommended for audiophile listening)...a picture disc will likely have an annoying high-end lull as the record is played. I have a picture disc of the 2006 funeral-doom album Catacombs 'In The Depths of R'lyeh' that actually sounds pretty good...but that is definitely an exception. *I also noticed some various 'factory nicks' in the shellac upon inspection of the discs (I've never played the discs...so I don't know if this will affect the quality of the audio). Remember... this is being sold as a limited collectors item (limited to 2000 copies).
My personal favorite Opeth album (although 'My Arms Your Hearse' comes pretty close). My younger brother bought 'Orchid' on cd in the summer of 1997 and we instantly loved the unique style and approach to Opeth's Swedish progressive black metal. Still a favorite to this day for the both of us...we discovered Katatonia, Borknagar, My Dying Bride, and The 3rd & The Mortal that summer and became big fans of European styled doomand atmospheric black metal. We had a great import metal section at one of our local record stores so we amassed quite an impressive collection of cool and obscure releases from the mid 1990s.
Smoke-free home. The record has been in nice dry storage since 2008!! Thanks for looking. -Devon
