Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite 2-LP - ELVIS PRESLEY (RCA VPSX-6089)
Original 1973 U.S. QUADARPHONIC LP. Legendary live double album, recorded in Honolulu & broadcast worldwide in January, 1973. The bad news on this copy - it is missing disc 2 completely - ONLY DISC 1 IS INCLUDED HERE. The good news on this copy - cover is still in original shrink - that's right, the gatefold cover HAS NEVER BEEN OPENED! More good news - the front shrink includes both of the original hype stickers - 1 that indicates this is a quad pressing, the other plugging the hit, "Steamroller Blues." The original record store price sticker is also still on the front shrink. In addition, BOTH inner paper sleeves are included - w/ the glossy, full color photo of ELVIS superimposed w/ a bevy of Hawaiian beauties - wow, talk about a terrible 'cut & paste' job - granted this is long before the days of photoshop but you'd still think RCA, one of the largest record companies in the world, would've done a better job than this crummy amateur effort... So, ELVIS fans/collectors, if you're looking to get a better copy of the cover & don't care about the vinyl on this, here's the perfect copy for you.
Disc = EX (several long, lite fingernail-like scuffs on side B, but not affecting play / Cover = IN SHRINK - front - 3" x 3" piece of shrink missing along lower right side, small numbers (1/23 6 77) written in lower right corner - black on black, almost impossible to see / Labels = a couple of very faint spindle marks around center hole
