For years I've searched for and have unearthed some of the coolest, hardest to find records, in the '60s to early '70s I spent my paychecks at Sam Goody's buying many lps for the cover art and graphics.Then later on I started looking for rare sound tracks and incredibly strange type lps. The lp I am offering here was on the top of my got to have it no matter what list. I was very excited to have acquired a collection of nicely kept early original lps which this one was part of. Lps like this are already in the hands of collectors unwilling to part with them, so they are getting harder to find in this great condition. It is an original '58 early stereo U.S. deep groove pressing on black and silver IMPERIAL Label #LP-12005, called: ALFRED HITCHCOCK presents: MUSIC TO BE MURDERED BY. conducted by JEFF ALEXANDER. I listened to excerpts of both sides, these are wonderful performances. they also include Mr Hitchcock's narration. like his movies, this is a beautifully produced gem. The cover is thick cardboard, NO seam or spine splits, bent corners, cut outs, stickers, stains, etc. Does have light wear, browning, mostly on back, previous owners name lightly stamped and 3 tiny numbers in pen, all on top right corner.photo and graphics on front are perfect, all notes on back also perfect. Lp is hardly played and in the best condition, labels are vibrant with only a hint of wear around spindle hole, silver print is very detailed and dark. Numbers are stamped in trail off, playing surfaces have a mirror like shine, NO groove wear, scratches, defects, warps or stains. only under close inspection could I see just a few light surface scuffs that do not affect play, I played excerpts, they sounded clean and clear with NO distortion or annoying background noise.
