Description

Disraeli Gears LP - CREAM (UK Reaction 593003) mono

Original 1967 UK mono LP. The classic 2nd full length by Bruce, Clapton & Baker in the hard-to-find MONO pressing. And, from what I've been reading, this is the genuine FIRST pressing. (Apparently the mono made it to a 2nd pressing...) According to the 'experts' there are numerous label/cover/vinyl variations & here is how you distinguish the 1st press:

a.) 1967 copyright date on side 2 label (2nd press says: 1966 ? that doesn't make much sense, but that's what I've read...)

b.) Windfall Music publishing credit on Side 1 label (2nd press says: Immediate Music)

c.) Apple Publishing publishing credit on Side 2 label (2nd press says: Copyright Control)

d.) Double ridge in centre on label (2nd press = a single ridge)

e.) Matrix #s in dead wax: Side 1 = 593003 A  1 / Side 2 = 593003 B  1 (dunno what is inscribed in the 2nd press, apparently something different)

f.) fully laminated front & back cover (2nd press = only front laminated ? not sure...)

g.) MONO 593 003 in black, block lettering in back, upper left corner (2nd press = a white box in back, upper right corner)

h.) white lettering on Reaction logo in back, bottom left corner (2nd press = black lettering)

i.) Printed... by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd... Patent Pending (2nd press = does not have: Patent Pending, don't know what it has - actual Patent #, perhaps?)

j.) thicker vinyl

Anyhow, this copy has all of the above attributed to the FIRST, first pressing (see photos). Supposedly few of these are in existence & 'tis quite rare... This copy ain't in the most pristine condition, but it plays thru fine & sounds good. So, here's a chance to score an 'extreme rarity' w/o spending a fortune - maybe...

Winning bidder, please do not send payment until you receive my invoice - shipping charges reflected by ebay are usually not accurate.

Disc = VG+ (plenty of lite scuffs, but no major scratches, gouges, etc - lite background pops/noise, but does not skip, repeat, etc - very listenable)/Cover = clear scotch tape along all 3 seams, but it's hard to see; edge wear; corner wear, all 4 corners; slight spine wear; slight creasing on back; slight edge wear where disc slips in & out/Labels = slight 'chipping' around centre hole; spindle marks around centre hole

My grading is very strict & guaranteed. I use: NM/EX/VG and +/- variables. I've been collecting/dealing vinyl for almost 40 years. Bid with confidence. Also, please note - I do not gouge on postage/shipping charges - shipping costs will be approximately what the post office charges me, give or take a bit. If I overestimate the cost, I will refund you.
