DIAL: LP-904 "COLLECTOR'S ITEMS" CHARLIE PARKER
THIRTEEN MASTERS PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED
Original Pressing CHARLIE PARKER LP on the DIAL Label
This auction is for an original pressing, mono, red on yellow label, DIAL Records, 1951 release of "COLLECTOR'S ITEMS" LP-904, by CHARLIE PARKER, complete with DEEP GROOVE. The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard. The album features alternate masters from a October, November, and December, 1947 sessions with the quintet consisting of: MILES DAVIS - trumpet; CHARLIE PARKER - alto; DUKE JORDAN - piano; TOMMY POTTER - bass; and MAX ROACH - drums, and J.J. JOHNSON - trombone added on the December date.
The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it VG based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained much of its original luster. There is some light wear with a few marks but nothing appears to be too bad although there may be some audible noise - I do not have a turntable to test with. Mild spindle marks. The original jacket looks nice and shows light wear, with a very small name written in ink on the orange rectangle and two small scuffs. Otherwise front cover looks good. The seams are intact except a 2" split on the center and corner bottom edge. Light wear to corners with very minor dings. Back cover is also in nice condition with light wear, a name written in pen on the upper left corner and a few small, light stain spots on the right edge. Record ships with a non-original inner sleeve. No reserve!
