Description

Here is a stunning and rare LP from the "Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band" who were also known as "The Bonzo Dog Band".    The band was created by a group of British art students of the 1960's and were combining elements of  music hall,Trad' jazz and psychedelic pop with surreal humour and avant garde art.        The Bonzos came to the attention of the broader British public through a 1968 ITV comedy show-"Do not adjust your set".    This Liberty Label LP dates from 1967,the year of the bands transition from Jazz to Rock and here for Auction is a stunning, complete and brilliant concept album titled "Gorilla" and is a UK first mono pressing with A1-B1 matrix numbers and with nice glossy first issue EX graded McNeil Press sleeve, which only has some very minor creases, with no writing and all images nice and clear and in super condition with expected and only very slight age discoloration.     The labels are nice and clean with no writing or staining and there are only slight spindle traces, one or two lines.    The vinyl I grade as EX+ on both sides and I grade the audio of this LP the same and is a super quality thick vinyl which plays fantastic with nice rich sound and is a brilliant listen, there are only very few and faint hairline marks on both sides but,on close inspection you can clearly see that they are insignificant, evident when this LP is played, there is no significant lessening of the sound quality of this super entertaining LP.    The matrix stampers are as follows: LBL 83056   A^1   420  118 and side two: LBL  83056   B^1  420     111  0     Also included is the  ever elusive booklet which makes this a must have for serious collectors as this is ALWAYS missing and makes this a super rare set, there is only one tiny crease to one edge, bottom right at the front and most would grade as N/M but I try to be accurate and avoid disappointment all round and a grade for this 12 page booklet is EX+ as the crease I mention is very very minor but because it is on the front I feel this grade is fair and the rest of this booklet is totally crisp and as new and makes this a super collectable package.
Please wait for my final invoice with exact postage costs, also all records will be removed from their cover and wrapped neatly, using bubble wrap, with no creases to inner sleeve then packed in mail stiffeners, nice and secure.      Please note that all records above£40 will only be posted using tracked, signed for and insured mail, all payments through PayPal,so please bid with confidence and thanks for looking.
