Available for your acquisition is this original David Stone Martin crowquill pen and watercolor study. The composition is diverse and surrealistic. The artwork does have some condition issues. It is torn in the upper left into the cloud and around the edges. The paper is slightly faded with age and has some foxing along the edges. A professional paper conservator could easily repair these imperfections. The watercolors still appear fresh looking and there are no stains on the image area. It is signed in the lower left, "Disc- David Stone Martin", in ink. Please examine the photos provided and ask questions prior to bidding.

David Stone Martin (1913–1992), born David Livingstone Martin, was an influential American artist best known for his illustrations on jazz record albums. This study was obviously created for the Disc record label and none of the images appear to have been published. To learn more about the artist, click the link below.
