Description
PRESTIGE PRLP-7166 "WORKIN' WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET" MILES DAVIS BERGENFIELD RVG
Original Pressing Miles Davis LP on Prestige Bergenfield, NJ Label w/ RVG & Deep Groove
This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, black on yellow label with Bergenfield, N.J. address Prestige Records, 1959 release of "WORKIN' WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET" PRLP-7166 complete with deep grooved label and "RVG" stamped on the trail-off. The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard. His quintet features: JOHN COLTRANE - tenor; RED GARLAND - piano; PAUL CHAMBERS - bass; and PHILLY JOE JONES - drums.
The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it a VG+(+) based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks beautiful. There are nearly no visible scratches even from sliding in and out of jacket. There is one small mark (approx. 1/8" x 1/8") on the track: "Ahmad's Blues". Otherwise the record is nearly pristine. Very minimal spindle marks. The original jacket is also beautiful with fully intact glossy laminate front free of any writing, marks, or dings. No ringwear. NO seam splits, and all edges are clean and intact (small, light ding on title edge). Very light wear to corners except approx. 3/8" ding on upper left corner. Back cover is also in great shape, free of writing, marks, or dings, with a small price sticker on upper left corner. Some light toning to white areas. Record ships with non-original vinyl lined inner sleeve, but original "PRESTIGE RECORDS" inner sleeve IS INCLUDED. No reserve!
Please refer to my feedback for reports on other vintage LP's that I've recently sold on e-bay and please bid with complete confidence.
