This is an original Sonny Rollins - Saxophone Colossus - Prestige Hi-Fi PRLP-7079. Also featured on the album are Tommy Flanagan - Doug Watkins & Max Roach. Prestige Records, Inc., 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. is at the top of the yellow & black label. RVG - PRLP is etched in the matrix.There are a few spindle marks on the label - still very clean. The album has a few light scuffs and scratches but looks as though it was only played sparingly. Most of the original gloss is still intact. Using the Goldmine grading system I would  grade it VG to VG+. ( I try to grade conservatively). The album jacket exhibits a little wear from age and handling with a 6" seam split in the upper right corner. There are also a couple of chips on the front cover and light discoloration to the back. I would grade it VG to VG+ also. There is a little surface noise on portions of the record - not unusual on older pressings - no skips. It still sounds Very Good. I'm including a brief description of Grades to help clarify them for the novice collector. NEAR MINT: A nearly perfect record. Basically, an LP in Near Mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed it from the shrink wrap. Many dealers won't give a grade higher than this. VERY GOOD PLUS: "record will show signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect ones listening experience. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole". VERY GOOD: Surface noise will be evident upon playing but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them". GOOD/GOOD PLUS: "A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve will have seem splits. Tape writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object". S/H is Priority w/tracking & insurance & includes a new album mailer.
