Oom Dooby Dochas present a reissue of Osamu Kitajima's Benzaiten, originally released in 1976. Benzaiten is world music and ethno sounds with an obvious Japanese origin, meeting progressive rock and psych rock. The result is a captivating piece of melodic and deeply atmospheric music that paints pictures of life in ancient Japan. If Pink Floyd were Japanese, their music might have sounded like this album. The frequency of the arrangements on Benzaiten is reminiscent of what English prog bands created in the early to mid '70s, just with a different ethnical approach. Benzaiten is even a more progressive effort than anything most British bands have ever managed to fabricate and is still utterly natural and vivid concerning the flow of the music. All participating musicians here are professionals and their performances are tight and still passionate. The sound is warm and vivid and the song structures are wide open and welcoming. Electronic elements in the percussion section add some oddity to the whole musical picture. The cool aspect of Benzaiten is the rocking guitar which keeps the whole album together. Must be the Japanese equivalent to German acts like Amon Düül II, Embryo and Guru Guru.

RETURNS: I do my best to list any item defects in my product description, therefore, I fully stand behind my merchandise and accept returns on most items. Complete buyer satisfaction is very important to me. In all cases, the buyer is responsible for paying the return shipping, and the item must be sent back in the exact same condition in which it was received, packaging fully intact. The return will not be honored if the item is returned to me in worse condition than it was received. I deduct a 10% restocking fee on returns resulting from anything that is not an oversight on my part, such as buyer's remorse or failing to read the item description. Every now and then, I'll sell something "as-is", in which case the return policy will be clearly stated in the description. In most cases, though, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. I just ask that you notify me of any issues before you send the item back.
A few notes on the condition of vinyl records:I generally don't grade any items mint, since records and packaging sometimes have minor cosmetic flaws that one can't see if the shrink wrap is still sealed. However, I do my best to mention any visible flaws in the item description, and I'm usually very thorough. I'm happy to give more details on, or send photos of, any item upon request, so please feel free to ask. Please be aware that I don't guarantee sound quality or anything that could be considered a common quirk of vinyl production, as I don't have any control over the manufacturing process. Some pressings are noisier than others, and sometimes a record will have a slight wobble or some other imperfection. Some pressings are better than others, and that's just the nature of vinyl. If something is clearly damaged, though, that's a different story, in which case, I'm willing to accept a return. Also, I'm happy to open the shrink wrap and ship any record outside of the sleeve to prevent sleeve splits. If you don't state a preference, I'll assume you prefer the record remain sealed, in which case I'm not to be held responsible for any splitting that may occur. Thanks for understanding!
