Otis Blackwell
This item is ONE OF A KIND! A mint condition 33 r.p.m. vinyl record and personal mementos. If you don't know that he wrote many songs for Elvis Presley, this item isn't for you. When working the oldies station WHHL, I met Otis while he toured, and became friends. This is his 1984 Christmas card and gift to me. It is addressed and dated to me. The vinyl is at 33 rpm, a DJ copy of ROC-CO Records #001. It and the white sleeve are personally stamped all over...but stamping might have been done by an assistant. I mean DJ COPY is stamped 8 times, and the sleeve and envelope say THE KING IS NOT DEAD all over. Signed and addressed to me by Otis. (side 1) THE KING'S NOT DEAD (time 4:14)flip side is
(1) #1 KING OF ROCK & ROLL (3:33)
(2) ONE BROKEN HEART FOR SALE (4:33)
Not for an American juke box, does NOT have the big center hole.
NOTE: there is a Christmas card with a personal note that mentions Chuck...I can't remember who that might be...
NOTE: Christmas card has Santa and Elves pushing a jalopy in the snow.
Kept in pet and smoke-free environment!
