Description

Ovary Lodge RCA SF8372 1973 Rare UK 1st Vinyl LP Fripp/Tippett EX-/EX  Nice Copy!
This is a super-clean great sounding copy of 'Ovary Lodge', an original 1st UK pressing from 1973 on RCA Records. This superb free-jazz/proggy number features Keith Tippett - his wife (formerly Judy Driscoll) and is produced by Ropert Fripp (some bits of this do sound like the percussive sections of 'Larks Tongues!). This copy is in superb, clean condition and is clearly a very low hours record. There is just one tiny visible mark that gives a slight rotational click, and some light underlying noise only audible due to the quiet nature of some of the music, this would not normally be audible and will be for the most part artefacts of the RCA pressing! There are no other marks or scratches anywhere other than the most minor wisps associated with sleeve-removal and light handling. There is a minor unevenness in rotation however this has no effect whatsoever on play. The sleeve is superb, no damage or writing and just minor evidence of handling and storage. Overall EX-/EX very close to a universal EX and in collectable condition.

Please see the following grading guidelines which I use to grade all media:  Items will be described in the following order: Media/Cover (i.e. VG/G+)

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

CD's are similarly graded though the Jewel case is disregarded in grading. The grading applies to the media and the insert. Cassettes will simply be described in their playing condition and are all tested.
