Description
This is a beautifully battered and bruised Ovation Standard Balladeer model 1111, made in the USA. This guitar has real character, and despite its battle scars, performs with the character and QUALITY a true Ovation should.
Was owned by a member of the Liverpool band China Crisis who have had a string of worldwide chart hits since the 1980s. Was, I'm told, used to record and perform some of their more famous hits. Full provenance can accompany the guitar.
Having just restrung and set up the guitar, I can assure you it's a real player. It has a real 'alive' sound; loud and bright and full. The action is low, and there's no fretbuzz.
You can see the bruises in the pics. The headstock has taken a couple of knocks, there is a ding in the front, and ther are a few marks in the back of the neck. There are no repairs, and if you just want to play it, an enjoy it for its history, there's no need for any. When new this guitar was chosen as a good one by professionals. It still is a good guitar.....with a history.
