Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoads Tribute Double LP EX NM CBS Records 1987.
Up for sale another piece of metal history, the 1987 Ozzy Tribute to Randy Rhoads. A double LP featuring some of Randy's best work, with a gatefold and inner sleeves with pics. A must have for any Ozzy fan.
The majority of Tribute, from "I Don't Know" through to "Paranoid", was recorded live in Cleveland, Ohio on 11 May 1981,with the exception of an extended guitar solo midway through the song "Suicide Solution" which was recorded at Théâtre Saint-Denis in Montreal on 28 July 1981 and inserted into the song.
"Goodbye to Romance" and "No Bone Movies" are taken from an earlier English gig in support of the Blizzard of Ozz album, possibly from Southampton on 2 October 1980. These two tracks feature bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake.
This is the US CBS Associated version. Info on the pressing from the runout etchings: Original 1987 2xLP with custom printed inner sleeves. "G" etched in dead wax run-outs denotes a Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Carrollton, GA pressing. 'MASTERDISK' etched in the dead wax run-outs on side 3 and 4 with the initials 'TD' (cut by Tony Dawsey)
The outer cover shows disc wear, common on double LPs of this age, but is in excellent shape. The inner sleeves are in excellent shape, unmarked save for one small corner fold. The vinyl is pristine. I played this record once after I bought it new for taping and into my collection it went. You will not find a better version outside of a sealed copy.
