• Meines Wissens fand die gezeigte Zusammenkunft nicht beim Festival selbst, sondern in Casals’ privatem Wohnhaus in Molitg-les-Bains statt!

• Dem Zustand der Kleidung einiger der hier abgebildeten Musiker nach zu urteilen, müssen diese Aufnahmen unmittelbar nach einem Konzert oder einer Konzertprobe entstanden sein. 

• Zu sehen sind neben Casals selbst und mehreren seiner Musiker auch Familienangehörige – sowie Ihre Königliche Hoheit Elisabeth, Königin von Belgien.

Unter den dargestellten Personen befinden sich meiner Ansicht nach:

• Pablo Casals (katalan. Cellist, Komponist & Dirigent; eigtl. Pau Casals; 1876–1973)

• Sándor Végh (ungarischer Violinist und Dirigent; 1912–1997)

• „BACKSTAGE“ AT PRADES FESTIVAL / MOLITG-LES BAINS, SUMMER 1961! •

• After a first lot already sold on 4 March, I’m now offering ANOTHER 12 UNPUBLISHED photos from an „after show reception“ at PABLO CASALS’ home in Molitg-les-Bains (Prades Festival, Summer 1961) in 13 x 18 cm. 

• To my knowledge, these pictures were not taken at the festival itself, but at Casals’ private home in Molitg-les-Bains (near Prades) instead, where he rehearsed in semi-public.

• Judging from the sweatiness of several musicians depicted, these photos must have been taken immediately after a concert performance or a concert rehearsal.

Among those pictured (as far as I can tell):

• Pablo Casals (aka Pau Casals; Catalan./Spanish cello player, composer & conductor; 1876–1973)

• Sándor Végh (Hungarian violinist and conductor; 1912–1997)

• Wilhelm Walter Friedrich Kempff (German pianist & composer; 1895–1991)

• Rudolf von Tobel (Swiss cellist, publicist, Casals’ assistant  & author of C.’s biography; 1903–1995)

• Enric[o] Casals i Defilló (Pablo Casals’ brother; violinist, composer & conductor; 1892–1986)

• Helene Freiin Hiller von Gaertringen Kempff (Wilhelm Kempff’s wife; 1908–1986)
