Very Rare original US LP released on VMC Records in 1968. 1st US Promo pressing.
Hold on one minute!!! What’s this? Actor Edward James Olmos had a group?? called Pacific Ocean??? Yes it’s true!!! The band played the Los Angeles club circuit and was signed by the L.A. based VMC label. The group’s name was chosen because according to Olmos ,”it was the biggest thing on the West Coast”. cool!!!.
The album is straight forward R&B, and as a vocalist Eddie could give Iggy Pop a run for the money, some great howling, gritty vocals. Some nice covers here including a great version of Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and also “16 Tons” and “I Can’t Stand It”. The album was subtitled “Purgatory” and is probably the theme for the Lp.
