THICK FOG / BALLAD TO JIMI ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by PACIFIC SOUND. Original UK pressing on M and M label (FFMS 10012), from 1971. Dark and cult Krautrock influenced double-sider by this super-obscure group from the Swiss underground. Features the killer THICK FOG with heavy beats / fuzz distortions / gothic hammond organ and snotty garage punk style lead vocals sung in broken English. Punishing drums and basslines on this sleazy rock oddity. Great for DJs. Booming production sound. The BALLAD TO JIMI side is also superb. An ode to Jimi Hendrix played with yet another unique take on the psychedelic prog genre. Raw psych guitars with early Black Sabbath - Deep Purple - Led Zep influenced vocals and pounding beats galore on this side too. The UK issue seems to have the loudest recording. Big record for certain acid rock collectors with crossover appeal, especially for those of you into B-boy drums. Original 4-prong centre intact. Rare 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines / faint scuffs from sleeve removal. Light surface noises. Some soft pops / ticks (as you can hear on our soundclip). Booming production sound. Archive stickers to both sides of label. Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. Record will be housed in plain white card sleeve with brand new poly lined inner. Rare 45!!!
