Description

PRINCE BUSTER & V. A: PAIN IN MY BELLY - National Ska
12 track UK BLUE BEAT LP

Melodisc Blue Beat BBLP 804, ? (-65); EX+/EX (please read below)

Made in UK; 12 tracks on relatively neat vinyl in very nice
sleeve w/ slight wear, mainly partial ringwear on back

This looks like a reissue, as there is written "Recording originally published
in 1965", but this feels VERY sixties, vinyl and laminated sleeve and such.

How to grade this??? I don't have anything to compare it with! It sounds
occasionally like music comes from next room, like in a worn c-cassette.
But there are practically no scratches or distortion, no signs of playing
with wrong or too heavy needle; some light snapping here and there.
Vinyl looks used but definitively not finished. And, above all, the sound
quality is surprisingly good; middle tones are damped but high end has
bright moments and bass is especially strong, sharply on top of everything.
And musically this is one half hour of 1st class stuff only!

1. Prince Buster & The Maytals - I Got a Pain
2. The Maytals - He Is Real
3. Tommy McCook - Cast Your Faith to the Wind
4. Prince Buster - Faith
5. The Ska Busters - Georgia
6. Prince Buster - Have Mercy

7. The Maytals - I Love You So
8. Eric Morris - Those Teardrops
9. Prince Buster - Chinaman Ska
10. The Skatalites - Super Charge
11. Don Drummond - Ska Town
12. Prince Buster - Ska School

Sorry for the incomplete sleeve scan!

Sleeve / record grading

Note: All grading is done by eye (jacket first), with more than 30 years of experience. I have tried to be VERY strict to avoid nasty surprises. (Standard jewel cases NOT graded.) Your money back, if my grading is false! I hate deceitfully upgrading sellers, too!
Ringwear, adhesive tape, price tags or their remains, pen markings et al are separately noted.

Sealed = Not opened. The shrink wrap or other seal may be slightly torn but clearly the record has never been taken out of its cover.

M (Mint) = Perfect, looks like never been played - but of course You can never be absolutely sure.

M- = Near mint, has been to a Good Owner, who played it very carefully and probably not many times.

EX+ (Excellent +) = Has been to a Good Owner or two, who played it carefully and handled it as well as You or I but there are minor signs of use.
May have remains of price tag glue.

EX = A record that is clearly a used one but should satisfy most collectors. Possibly light scratches. Sleeve corners or edges may be slightly worn, but no seams are split. May have remains of price tag glue; all these are explained.

I don't sell cds in condition worse than EX, unless they belong to an interesting collection.
I have used this grading successfully in Finland and I apologize, if it differs substantially from gradings You are more familiar with.
