 Pale Cocoon " ?(Mayu) " Cassette & Booklet Set (Pafe Record / 1984 / TOY BOX-01)
EXTREMELY RARE!!!! Here's your chance to own possibly the rarest Pafe Records release of all. The cassette and booklet set by a Japanese minimal synth/wave band Pale Cocoon. A 60 minute, pro-copied cassette and a nice quality 33-page booklet in a book style package. I remember back in the '80s, this music format(cassette/booklet set in a box package) was quite popular in the Japanese underground new wave/avant/punk scene, they were usually called the 'cassette-book'. Released on an excellent Japanese minimal/wave/experimental label Pafe Record in 1984, as "Pafe Record Cassette Book Series Vol.1"(I don't think "Vol.2" of the Cassette Book Series ever came out. In fact this was the only cassette release by Pafe) As most of you probably know, many of the releases by this label are highly sought after and some of them are really hard to come by. The cassette is in Mint condition like new, the booklet looks new too, and the package has some minor wear. It's in a beautiful shape. The tape contains 12 tracks and the booklet has the band photos, artworks, lyrics, articles, poems and such. The members from Funeral Party and Yapoos are credited as "sound producer", "technical adviser etc in the last page. Printed on the nice, light brown-ish papers and it's not a cheaply made booklet. It was the cassette-only release and never been available on vinyl or CD formats. Awesome minimal synth/new wave for fans of Normal Brain, Portray Heads, Sympathy Nervous, D.R.Y. Project, Himegozen, Tomo Akikawabaya, C. Memi, Hikashu, Mad Tea Party, and all that good minimal/techno wave/synth-pop stuff on Vanity, LLE, Kaegeroh label etc. You know the drill. If you're a serious collector, don't miss this chance. You might not see this again!!!
