AFTER A FINAL THREE DAYS WORTH OF TRINIDAD CALYPSO 45s I'LL BE RETURNING TO LPs. This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1962 COOK RECORDS TRINIDAD PRESS 45 containing the Trinidad calypso tune titled 'Sparrow 69' as performed vocally by Pancho with The Cook Recording Orchestra and instrumentally by the Pan American North Stars Steel Orchestra. It is Cook Records Trinidad catalog number CC 6132, gold labels with black print. Overall condition of this 45 is a high VG with a fair amount of surface marks, none of which can be felt and none of which affect play, and one or two small surface scratches which can be felt and which may cause some slight ticks, no skips. The B-side of the record containing the instrumental version also has an extremely slight small ripple warp which made the cartridge on my turntable with a very lightweight tone arm bob a bit but did not affect play; the ripple warp strangely does not exist on the A-side with the vocal version. Labels have a little contact wear and a little wear around the center hole, no other real problems. This 45 would be a nice addition to any vintage Trinidad calypso 45 record collection!
