Parish Hall :  Parish Hall F-2770/1 1st USA Press 1970 Fantasy Label
This relatively rare first USA pressing plays to a superb standard with no interference at all.  I cannot emphasise enough just how impressive this album is sonically.  It has clearly hardly ever been played and that is reflected in the clarity, depth and power of the audio.  There is no background aside from one minor tick and you could still miss that!  I have graded one track as Near Mint but even that could be considered a little harsh as it is the final track on the album.  Final tracks are of course renown for inner groove distortion but it is kept to an absolute minimum here i.e. barely any!
This is quite a collectable album today and it's one I had never heard before.  The audio is strong and powerful with a real raw quality about it and you can see why Wagner and co were compared to the Jimi Hendrix Experience.  It was a shame they never released another album.
The laminated cover is in excellent shape with only a couple of water marks on the front cover.  The non-laminated back cover is in superb condition!  The poly-lined inner sleeve is also in great condition with very little wear.  No idea if it is the original one though!

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy look with no scratches.  There are only a small number of faint hairlines and one very faint thin scuff line on S2 that has zero impact on the audio.  Believe me it is very faint and can only be seen under a bright light when you hold the vinyl at a certain angle.  There is no groove or surface wear and the Fantasy labels are practically 'as new' with only a couple of tiny barely visible spindle traces.
Play Grading
The intro on 'My Eyes Are Getting Heavy' is strong and deep and plays perfectly.  Wagner's opening vocal is on a par with that and it continues to plays with genuine power and definition.  The long instrumental that closes the track has no intrusion either and you can see why they were compared to the Jimi Hendrix Experience.  This section exemplifies that with superb guitar work from Wagner ably supported by the rhythm section of Haden and Adams.  From start to finish the audio is so deep and rich and there are no ticks, clicks or pops and no static either.  Easily a Mint- version.
'Dynaflow' again impresses on every level with no intrusion.  A more straightforward bluesy number with outstanding guitar work once more.  I think it has to grade as Mint which is perhaps how the first track should be graded!
The intro on 'Ain't Feeling Too Bad' is faultless and the opening vocal section is equally as strong.  The depth and richness of the audio really shines through and sonically it is superb.  It's a powerful number but there is certainly no distortion.  It is so clean and precise and the closing instrumental including the fade out are prime examples of that.  Mint-
'Silver Ghost' is very Hendrix-esque and it plays with phenomenal quality with no sign of any intrusion.  It's the riff sound that is very reminiscent of Hendrix and Haden's deep bass adds the perfect accompaniment.  There is one light tick towards the end but you could easily miss as it is very much buried in the background.  Another Mint- track.
'Skid Row Runner' ends S1 with impeccable quality once more.  The powerful intro is so strong and deep and the opening vocal section is of the same high end standard.  From then on it plays so clearly and for a final track the audio is very clean and distinct.  I have to mention Wagner's work again - I guess it's just one reason why this album is so collectable.  If there is any inner groove distortion it is barely noticeable and I am probably doing the listing a disservice by even mentioning it!  In my educated opinion this is still worthy of a Mint- grade, a stunning finish to the side.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Luccanna' is loud and true from the get go.  The intro is flawless and the opening vocal section is just as strong.  From then on it plays with that familiar dynamic guitar sound and the solo section in particular.  Sorry to keep going on about it but the Hendrix comparisons are again so obvious!  Mint all the way through including the fade out.
'We're Gonna Burn Together' plays with no intrusion.  I've read one review of this track stating 'thin production' but I didn't notice any difference sonically.  Wagner's vocal is perhaps a little lower in the mix but it still plays without fault from the first note to the last.  Mint
'Somebody Got the Blues' has a riff that is Hendrix all over!  The audio is again so deep and powerful and there is no distortion on the top end and no interference.  Of course!  Mint
The intro on 'How Can You Win' plays with crystal clear audio and the opening vocal is equal to that.  It continues in the same way - Wagner's guitar in the middle section is stunning and sonically it could not be any better.  The final vocal / instrumental  section has no intrusion either - another raw track that easily deserves a Mint grading.
'Take Me With You When You Go' ends the album with a more contemplative feel shall we say.  A gentle piano intro plays perfectly and the first vocal section is very clean also.  No ticks, clicks etc.  As it proceeds the clarity of sound is perhaps not quite on the same level but seriously it is only marginally below.  There is no actual interference and the playback is still very strong and well defined.  Near Mint is fair - a stunning album though on so many levels.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The laminated cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear.  The top edge is pristine and the bottom edge has only minor rubbing by the right corner.  The spine is in superb shape and has lost none of its original shape, the corners are very clean also.  The right hand corners have only a little wear and the opening edge has only minimal handling wear.  The only issue with the front cover is one 'water-stain' line near the bottom right corner and a smaller fainter one halfway down by the opening edge.  Minor wear in that same corner also.  The back cover isn't laminated and is in fantastic condition with no marking or creasing etc.  It's very close to Ex+ if not NM- but I will say it's a very strong Ex - it's still in great condition for 55 years old.
The poly-lined inner sleeve is in excellent condition with no side splits or tears and has very little age related fading around the edges and only very minimal creasing.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
