Description
- Title: Funkentelechy Vs. The Placebo Syndrome
- Artist: Parliament
- Year: 1977
- Label: Casablanca
- Catalog #: NBLP-7084 stereo
- Track Listing: see photos
- Vinyl: VG+ play grade *entire album plays great even with light spindle/scuff marks on Side 2 (specifically Track 3); Side 1 displays only a few faint spindlies; I've downgraded for those visual flaws, as any noise disturbances were at a minimum; condition of labels are as seen in photos
- Cover: VG+ *light shelf wear only and all seams intact; main flaw is some light crease wrinkles at various spots along edges
- Notes: Included is 8-page comic insert which is in nice shape with no marks or tears, and staples intact; Casablanca Records inner sleeve included as well
Near Mint (NM): A nearly perfect record will play perfectly with no imperfections during playback. The disc is shiny and should show no obvious signs of wear. An LP cover should still be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident. The jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable similar defects.
Excellent (EX): An excellent record or jacket will have a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. The record may show some signs of having been played, but has been handled and played very carefully. The disc may have light paper scuffs or spindle marks, but there is no appreciable lessening in sound quality. Covers will show only minor signs of wear or age, and may have a cutout marking and some slight signs of handling or wear, including a tiny bit of ring wear and/or creasing.
Very Good Plus (VG+): A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not effecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs, spindle marks or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be minimal and barely noticeable. An LP cover may have slight signs of light storage wear or aging, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner.
Very Good (VG): Many of the defects seen in a VG+ record will be more pronounced on a VG album, with the vinyl displaying visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of the LP covers, although none of the flaws should be overwhelming, and limited to no more than a couple.
Good (G) Good Plus (G+): Record can be played without skipping, although it will have significant surface noise, scratches and visible groove wear. While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback. Jackets will have even more pronounced defects than a VG cover, with seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, water damage or other defects will be present.
