I NEVER grade a record MINT unless it's in a STILL SEALED cover OR if the record comes from my own collection and I KNOW it's never been played.

Comments : All my covers, labels and inners are graded conservatively after international acclaimed GOLDMINE standard. I ALWAYS grade them half a note WORSE than they actually are. I've had too many problems with MOON GRADINGS as a BUYER in my years of collecting.

Details : The cover looks fantastic and shows some minor signs of wear on corners, seams, spine and opening only - other dealers would give it a M - but due to my strict grading .... I doubt you'll ever find a better copy.

Details : Both labels show NO spindle marks or any other signs of use.

Comments : Between 1970 and 1973 the Classic/Folk Rock group PARZIVAL belonged to those German formations that created an internationally recognized independent music style.
In 1965, the singer/guitarist Lothar Siems and singer/drummer Thomas Olivier founded the Beat Band The Chamberlains in Bremen (about 70 mi. from my hometown Hamburg). A year later they moved around the country as a Folk-Duo. In 1967 with violinist Walter Quintus and a another cellist they formed The Quintus Quartet and in 1969, after a French tour, Siems, Olivier and Quintus founded the short-lived band Beazzic Conservatory. Contacts with George Harrison and Ringo Starr and a name change brought letters of recommendation, and Muff Winwood of Island Records certified the band exceptional talent "... the next big group in the world will come from Germany and I think PARZIVAL would stand a good chance of making it". Test recordings for an LP had been made in England, but the strict rules of the British trade union brought a last-minute cancelation to the project.
It was the important German producer Conny Plank who signed the band for Telefunken Records in 1971, and the first album 'Legend' was recorded in (yes, you guess right: The No # Music City of Germany - Hamburg) and released that same year. Avant-garde Classic Rock, which many critics enthused:
'Classical, Jazz and Rock blend into a convincing sound' (Basler Zeitung, Switzerland), 'Sound locks of discrete elegance and beauty' (Frankfurter Allgemeine, Germany), 'One of the most interesting groups in Europe' (Melody Maker, UK).

Consistently the musicians followed their course to their second and final album in 1973.
'BaRock' was a perfect blend of Progressive Folk, Art Rock and classical elements. Nevertheless and despite very good reviews, 'BaRock" became the final step of PARZIVAL. The band called it a days and split. The musicians were spread in all directions. In 1977 Lothar Siems and Walter Quintus released the critically acclaimed Rock Opera 'Der Führer'. Quintus is still successful working in the music business.
The history of PARZIVAL however was terminated.
The album offered for sale here, is an ULTRA RARE German FIRST pressing with the ORIGINAL gatefold-cover.

It comes from my own collection and the record is in a near pristine condition. I doubt you'll ever find a better copy of this gem.
