Description
You are bidding for an original UK pressing of Patchy Fogg – Today’s Weather on the private / small Acorn Records (CF. 254) from 1975.
This release is included in Richard Morton Jack’s excellent Galactic Ramble book covering many of the more obscure and private UK album releases in the 1960’s and 70’s.
A close harmony folk group from Oxfordshire mixing male and female vocals on both contemporary and traditional folk songs the record is described in Galactic Rambles as: released on the same label as Oberon, but more comparable to bands like Galley or Gallery. A delicate version of ‘Scarborough Fair’ is especially enjoyable, but there are a number of well judged, sensitive versions of traditional folk tunes…

Visually the disc has a few light marks when viewed under a good light, but is still in really nice collectable condition.
Audibly this is a small label / privately pressed recording on cheap vinyl, so it is not the greatest of pressings, but other than some light noise during run in / out and between tracks and the occasional click or pop it plays great and I would grade it as Ex- overall.
The labels are clean with some evidence of light spindle marking.
The monochrome sleeve is a little grubby, and shows some signs of age but is still a strong Ex-. A nice touch is it includes the signatures of each of the band members on the reverse.

Overall then I would describe this as a nice copy of a rare and collectable Private Pressing which I would grade as Ex-/Ex- (vinyl/sleeve).
