•Other Info: This album is hideously rare!  I have been collecting Moog records for many years, and in the course of doing so, I searched for this album for about ten years before I managed to find it—and I’ve never found another copy since.  I had seen mention of it when reading various Beaver and Krause biographies over the years, but no one seemed to actually own a copy or have even seen it.  And boy, was the information in those bios about this album wrong: it was claimed that Perchance to Dream was released after their 1972 record All Good Men.  It wasn’t; it was possibly recorded in 1967, but probably in 1968, and definitely no later than 1969.  Also, the fact that these biographies place the album’s release shortly after Beaver and Krause’s final LP gives the distinct impression that Perchance will be an electronic or at least a rock recording.  It isn’t; it is an organ record, recorded on the Kearns-Carson Wurlitzer pipe organ.  Beaver had already started contributing electronic music to films and TV shows when this came out (and had almost certainly met Krause by the time of Perchance’s release), but there’s not a hint of it here.  It’s all fairly easy listening or jazz tunes (there are also two Beaver originals).  Two things make this extra special: the cover is signed by Paul Beaver, with an inscription to Bill Buchanan (probably the song-writer), and it includes a concert program for an organ recital that Paul Beaver gave in 1966 at the Wiltern Theatre.  So, if you’re only looking for something that sounds like a typical Beaver & Krause LP, this isn’t for you.  But if you want to own an interesting and near-impossible to find footnote to Moog music’s history, or if you love organ records, Perchance to Dream will make you very happy indeed.

This is part of a massive “Moog record” (and related) collection I’m starting to sell.  I will be selling a lot more of it in the months to come.  If you are looking for a Moog/synth album in particular, drop me a line.

Payment and Shipping Information

In the U.S., shipping/handling is $4.89 for one LP sent by Media Mail (but if this listing is for more than one LP, click on the Shipping and Payments tab above for the correct price).  Package insured upon request.  Yes, I do combine shipping so if you bid on and win more than one item, you WILL save on postage!  I do not gouge on postage and packaging costs.  I send your records to you carefully packaged in a strong, OVERSIZED LP mailer (to avoid damage to the LP cover) with sturdy cardboard squares (to protect the record and the cover), but I make sure to only charge the amount needed to cover my actual costs.  If you have any questions about this item, feel free to contact me.

International Customers: Please DO NOT use the Checkout (Pay Now) option, or you may end up paying more for postage than is necessary, as eBay tends to calculate shipping and handling on the high side. Instead, wait for me to send you an invoice with the correct total amount due. I will do my best to contact you within one day of the auction’s end.  An approximate cost for one LP to many countries is $16.74 by First Class Mail (but Canada and Mexico will be less than this).  To find a more accurate quote for shipping/handling to your country (or if this listing is for more than one LP), go to the Shipping and Payments tab above and select your country from the list.
