Description
This is a very good copy from an early mono U.S. repressing of the debut LP by Chicago blues-rock group the Butterfield Blues Band, originally released in the fall of 1965. At the beginning of their career, the group played fiery electric blues, mixing original compositions with covers of well known tracks like "Blues With a Feeling," Muddy Waters' "I Got My Mojo Working," and "Look Over Yonders Wall." They were notable for being an interracial combo at a time when this still wasn't common. The jacket's problem area is along the bottom seam: it has some tearing near the bottom seam on the front cover, staining along the bottom seam and part of the spine on the back cover, and a 1” split in and wear on the bottom seam (see photos for details). Otherwise it's close to pristine. Overall VG++. The disc has some light dinging, scraping, scuffing, and loss of glossiness, and plays with light to moderate surface noise, but no pops in the sections I sampled (VG+). The disc has the original labels (with the guitar player). The side 1 label has a couple of tears and a former owner's name written in pen in a part where the gold background color has been rubbed out (see photo for details). For those into the minutiae: the disc's runout #s include the date 1-4-1966. The record comes with the original label inner sleeve.
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
