Label:   IMPULSE!  Label is orange with black border, with black text.  Medium thick vinyl, does not have deep groove.   Catalog number is A-55.  Label states “A PRODUCT OF ABC PARAMOUNT RECORDS INC.”  “VAN GELDER” is machine-stamped in runout area. 

Year:  1963

Personnel:   Johnny Hodges and Paul Gonsalves – saxophones;  Ray Nance and Rolf Ericson – trumpets;  Walter Bishop, Jr. – piano;  Ernie Shepard – bass;  Osie Johnson – drums. 

Note:  This album comes from an extremely well cared-for jazz collection where the original owner cherished his albums, played them once or twice at most, and stored them under optimal conditions.  There will be some nice opportunities for the collector who insists on mint condition.

Condition: 

DISC:  Vinyl is gorgeous NEAR MINT, has been played a very small number of times, most likely once or twice, and handled with care.  Plays flawlessly with superb fidelity.  Labels are clean and pristine.    

JACKET:   EXCELLENT.  Would grade NM except for wear spots at three of the corners.  Inside gatefold is clean and nice.  Reverse states “A PRODUCT OF ABC-PARAMOUNT RECORDS, INC.”  No writing or cutout indications.  Overall a very fine jacket.
