Description
Paul Jones Crucifix in a Horseshoe, a 1st Press on the Vertigo Swirl label from my personal record collection. Visual grading under a strong light source, the grooves are very clean and clear of any dirt. The vinyl has just a few of the very faintest hairlines, but none that standout that would affect play. The labels are clean and clear of spindle marks, free of writing and stains from handling as can be seen clearly in a couple of the photos and this helps to confirm the record has hardly been played. The spindle hole has very little wear and fits my turntables spindle very tightly. The Audio played through headphones for grading sounds very clear with just the occasional lightest of ticks during quieter sections of some tracks. A beautifully kept vinyl that is still musically satisfying. The gatefold sleeve from the Vertigo label, has the matt unlaminated printed board and as this was not laminated at the time of issue and the added that fact that this cover has spent many years in storage without protection has caused wear to the bottom edge and very faint wear on the spine, however only minor and I have graded this a very honest EX, photos will show this better than my wording could ever do. The Inner sleeve is in VG condition and although no longer used to hold the record in storage it has been just used for photographing to advertise its condition. I have graded this record Ex for the vinyl and Ex for the sleeve. The UK pressings on the Vertigo Label are one of the most collectible and it has become hard to find enjoyable copies to listen to now, this is one you will enjoy.
Rest assured you are buying this record from a private collector and of many years. I grade all my records for sale on eBay using the Record Collectors system. I play my records to grade from start to finish, source direct on my high end turntable fitted with Ortofon 2M Black cartridge and stylus to grade not just the visual but also the audio quality. I have graded this record honestly and I’m also aware that anyone can make a misjudgement of the quality of used record during grading, however If buy this record and you feel it is not as per the grading in the description I have written and as stated in the record collectors grading system (notes below) then I will be happy to refund your money on return of the same record to me promptly.
The Record Collectors Grading System
Mint: The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised sealed or un-played should be mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra Items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover suffers from folding scuffing of edges, of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
