FORMER FRONTMAN for Mannfred Mann, this was I think his fith solo album but first to be issued on the highly respected Vertigo label. Stylistically he's opted for early seventies bluesy rock with a bit of a heavy prog feel. Recorded in New York City to capture an edgy sound with solid production chops and a loud vibe. Lyrically the album excels - in fact the words and vocals are the highpoint of this record but that's not to say that the music is substandard, which clearly it isn't.
Bought this copy long ago from a guy that used to work in the International office of the PolyGram company - it's a white label test pressing with handwritten song titles on the label.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean and shiny condition. A couple of lone spindle marks but virtually no other signs of use. Grades as a lovely MINT-!
Cover: Only extremely minor signs of any use. Issued in a beautifully designed gatefold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Displays slight signs of storage. Impossible to find like this after 46 years. Grades as an extremely strong Ex+
