Paul McCartney and Wings - 'Getting Closer / Baby's Request'. R 6027

Paul McCartney and Wings 1979 UK 1st DEMO pressing of the 'Getting Closer / Baby's Request' 7" single. Released on the 16th August 1979, and offered here in STUNNING MINT- condition.

These initial early demonstration pressings would have been given out to important reviewers and radio stations prior to the release date. Both labels state: 'DEMO RECORD NOT FOR SALE' and feature a large printed 'A' to both sides indicating this was originally intended to be released as a double a-side.

This was the final single to be credited to Wings with all future releases being solo Paul McCartney material. It charted very badly back in 1979 only reaching number 60 in the UK charts. That very fact has now made it one of Paul's rarer singles to obtain. The vinyl comes housed within the original picture sleeve.

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. 7TCE 21811-1U 1 G

Side 2. 7TCE 21812-2U 1 G

The vinyl is in MINT- condition. Both sides of the vinyl have been play tested with NO faults. Plays and sounds perfect. LOOKS UNPLAYED.

Both labels are in MINT- condition. BUT one side has '60/79 sept' written neatly. This is probably a reference to the release date.

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD++ condition.

This will be very carefully packaged for transit. UK Recorded postage is: £2.50. EU Recorded Postage is: £8.50. Rest of the world recorded postage is: £11.95. Combined, reduced postage is available.
