Description

On offer here is a VERY rare Box Set (especially in this condition!!!!) by Paul McCartney & Wings called "Back To The Egg" and is an ORIGINAL UK 1979 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Parlophone label!!!! THIS BOX SET IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  THIS BOX SET WAS NEVER EVER MADE AVAILABLE FOR SALE - AND WAS ONLY AVAILABLE AS AN 'IN-HOUSE' PROMOTIONAL COPY ONLY!!!!  AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE!!!!

HOWEVER, IT IS IMPORTANT TO CLEAR UP SOME MYTHS (AND EVEN FANTASIES) ABOUT THIS BOX SET, 'INVENTED' BY PEOPLE TO SELL IT FOR A HIGHER PRICE.  IT ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO CHECK YOU HAVE THE CORRECT VINYL FOR THE BOX TOO - AS SOME HAVE BEEN SWAPPED!!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS BOX SET:-

1) Contents vary wildly.  This is a stone cold fact.  Just looking at previous Box Sets over the years - you'll see that it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to find a set the same.  Essentially these boxes were filled with whatever promotional items were at hand!  The only common items seem to be the Back To The Egg Booklet, and Photos.  Anything else is a lottery.  Some have Fun Club magazines, some dont.  Some have 1 set of cards, some have 2 or more sets of cards!  And almost NO SET has the same Photos!  They vary wildly!  And for some obscure reason people think the photos were taken by Linda McCartney?  They werent.  One or two were, but the most were by different professional photographers unrelated to the band!

2) This Box Set was NEVER available for sale.  It was strictly for use 'in-house' only - for promotion to the press, sales reps, and internal managers ONLY.  This one came from one of those internal managers working for EMI who obtained it from one of the photographers - and I even have his reference to prove it!

3) Virtually NO box sets had the T Shirt.  This isn't a lie.  If you HAVE the T Shirt it is super rare, make no mistake about it!  But most Box Sets NEVER had it to start with!  This Box Set came from an internal manager at EMI - and he had THREE Wings T Shirts (one of which I have listed now!), and he was absolutely POSITIVE this Box Set did NOT have the T-Shirt.  So whilst this Box Set is rarer WITH the T Shirt - the box set is definitely NOT incomplete without it, as most Box Sets never had it in the first place!

4) This Box Set was NEVER available from Wings 'Fun Club'.  Many Box Sets have a 'Fun Club' magazine or order form inside them leading people to believe this is where they came from.  Yet this is untrue.  If you look through the first 20 issues of the 'Fun Club' magazine, you can find 2 or 3 issues with a Wings 'Back To The Egg' Order form.  However this relates to certain contents ONLY - and NOT the box set.  Sometimes you see copies advertised as having a 'Press Pack' in a folder + contents.  THESE came from the 'Fun Club' - but the Box Sets never did!

5) Only around 500 Box Sets were ever made - making it VERY rare indeed.  Some people like to inflate rarity by saying 100 copies or 200 copies.  But information gained from the internal manager this Box Set came from - he told me categorically that 500 copies were made, no more and no less.

6) Apparently fakes exist of the Box?  Well if that is true I have never seen one!  This one is definitely ORIGINAL and 100% GENIUNE - with FULL HISTORY and PERFECT printing to the top picture!

7) And lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY all Box Set LPs must have 1st Press 2/1 matrixes!  Often later records are swapped and put in the box set, if they are in poor condition.  But ALL Box Sets originally had the 1st Press ONLY 2/1 matrix record!!!!

AND JUST LOOKING AT THE CONTENTS OF THIS 'BOX SET' TELLS YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 'LOTTERY' OF CONTENTS PUT INTO THESE BOX SETS!!!!  AND THIS ONE WAS OWNED BY A PHOTOGRAPHER FOR THE RECORD COMPANY - AND HAS THINGS INSIDE THIS BOX THAT YOU WILL NEVER EVER SEE AGAIN!!!!  THIS BOX SET HAS:-

1) WINGS 'BACK TO THE EGG' SINGLE PAGE BLACK BOOKLET (Found in every box set - nice example, light ruffling and possible staining - hard to know with the black colour!)

2) INCREDIBLY THIS BOX SET HAS 16 PRESS PHOTOS!  ONLY 13 ARE SHOWN IN THE PICTURES, AS THERE IS 3 COPIES OF LINDA McCARTNEY AND 2 COPIES OF LAWERANCE JUBER & STEVE HOLLY'S PHOTO!  (Some of these photos are COMPLETELY UNKNOWN in this Box Set - and it was supposed to have 9 pictures, not 16!  All in nice order, some have faint red staining, which looks like the developing process to the edges)

3) SOME OF PHOTOS HAVE THE DATES, TIMES AND WHO TOOK THE PHOTO ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF EACH PHOTO!  THESE ARE TYPED AND CLEARLY MEANT FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHERS USE ONLY!  I HAVE PICTURED ONE OF THESE.  (This is almost NEVER seen in this Box Set!)

4) 2 SLIDES!  I HAVE MADE A HOPELESS ATTEMPT AT PHOTOGRAPHING THESE - BUT STILL YOU GET THE IDEA.  PERHAPS THESE WERE PICTURES THAT NEVER MADE IT TO BE PRESS PHOTOS?  I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE PICTURES BEFORE - IN SLIDE FORMAT OR ANYWHERE ELSE!  (I have NEVER seen these slides before EVER in any Box Set!  They are in SUPERB condition!)

5) WINGS 'CLUB SANDWICH' ISSUE 14 'BACK TO THE EGG' (This is SUPER RARE!  Only 80% of Box Sets had these, and most had the later issue 15 - VERY nice example, factory folded)

6) WINGS FAN CLUB ORDER FORM (Superb example - found in many Box Sets!)

7) A HUGE WINGS 'PENGUIN' POSTER!  (Never seen this before in ANY Box Set and is in BRILLIANT order, apart from the multiple factory folds on such a large poster!)

8) 4 SETS OF CARDS!  THESE WERE ISSUED IN A SET OF 5.  (In this Box Set's Case there were for some reason FOUR Sets of 5, and 2 of these are UNTOUCHED and still kept together with their ORIGINAL Elastic Band.   The other 2 sets are stapled.  I have no idea why there are 4 sets.  There should only be one!).

9) And lastly the 1st Press Record with 2/1 matrix endings (swapped records have 2/2 matrixes instead!)!!!!

A TRULY STUNNING BOX SET - AND WITH ONLY 500 BOXES EVER MADE, IT IS NOW ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE!!!!  AND HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ONE BEFORE WITH THESE INCREDIBLE CONTENTS!!!!  MANY OF WHICH YOU WILL NEVER EVER SEE AGAIN!!!!

NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS BOX SET IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION - AND HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  ALL CORNERS OF THE BOX ARE 100% SOLID AND 100% STRONG - AND HAS NO REPAIRS FOR ONCE!!!!  JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1979 UK 'PROMOTIONAL ONLY' 1ST PRESSING ON THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS PARLOPHONE LABEL, 1ST PRESS 2/1 MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, 1ST PRESS BOX CONTENTS (AS DESCRIBED ABOVE), AND 1ST PRESS OUTER BOX!!!!  THIS BOX SET IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL 1979 Parlophone UK 1st Pressing and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The Cat. The Outer Box MUST grade Very Good+ if not better!!!!  THIS BOX SET IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items (I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!) - PLEASE REMEMBER to contact with me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy!  Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again - Graham @ XXXRecords.

PLEASE NOTE - Private feedback bidders must consult me first prior to bidding - due to previous problems regarding non-payment, and non-receipt.   MY POSTAGE UNDERCHARGE GUARANTEE TO ALL BUYERS (I always undercharge on postage!):-  Due to UK Royal Mail's obscene price increases this year - I have had no choice but to increase postage charges a little.  Until this year - I had kept them exactly the same since I joined ebay back in 2002.  However this years price increases have been so obscene, that I have had no choice but to increase my postage charges for the first time ever.  However PLEASE NOTE - my absolute 100% guarantee to you as a buyer - is that I will ALWAYS undercharge postage on everything I send out.  Even after the increases, I am still charging you the buyer LESS than I am being charged myself.  On each package I send out - the price is clearly stated on the front of the package (please check it when you recieve it!).  I also do NOT charge for packaging costs - ONLY for postal costs!  And should you find that I have overcharged you postage in ANY way - I will refund DOUBLE the difference.  THAT IS MY 100% POSTAL GUARANTEE FOR EACH AND EVERY BUYER!  No buyer EVER deserves to be overcharged on postage - and on my listings, I'll make sure they are ALWAYS undercharged.  Any questions - please ask!
