Description
Paul Revere & The Raiders Self Titled LP, FIRST 1966 EDITION on The Sande label (no mention of Etiquette Records on trail-off, which is on the later second editions.) This is it, one of the holy grails for Northwest psych/garage collectors, and yep, the one Goldmine books at $600.00 (since mint copies NEVER pop up, who knows what it'd actually go for). I bought this many years ago from a collector in Portland was heavily involved in the local scene and hung out at infamous Northwest Recorders studio way back when.
Catalog# S-1001, trail-off etched "SANDE-1001-A", "SANDE-1001-B" on side 2, and that's it!
Vinyl is VG, still has most of its original gloss/shine. It has some pretty pervasive light surface scratching visible under light and a few very short deeper scratches (5 or 6, 1/8th to 1/2 inch long which had me a little worried but that cause only some light ticking). The LP plays like a champ (better than VG) with just a very small amount of light surface noise and the light ticking I mentioned earlier. A really, really nice listen with no jarring pops to speak of. I suppose they just "don't make them like they used to".
Cover is VG+, light corner-wear and edge-wear, a hint of yellowing on the back and a touch of ring-wear.
Labels are nice and clean with a fair amount of light spindle marks and one spot of wear/tear on side 2.
