We pack items very carefully (check feedback) and do not accept returns due to shipping damages.  If you'd like postal insurance, let us know before finalizing payment, and we'll add it to your invoice.  Insurance is not available for USPS First Class International, but is available for USPS Priority Mail International (for most countries).

We use brand-new shipping boxes and packing materials for added shipping protection for records.  There is a $2 handling fee for domestic shipping, to cover the cost of packaging.

MULTIPLE-LISTINGS BUYERS:  Our boxes fit a maximum of five records or two box sets (or similar combination), so we will invoice you once you reach that limit on our "Awaiting Payment" list, even if you still have bids out.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:  Please be aware we ship by USPS First Class International only, unless your order exceeds four pounds in weight, in which case we have no other option that to ship by USPS Priority Mail International.

PAUL ROBESON - SPIRITUALS.  COLUMBIA MASTERWORKS SERIES M-610

Four 10", 78 rpm records (8 sides) in sleeved album, cover art and design by Alex Steinweiss.  Recorded December 28 - 29, 1945.

See third photo for song list.

All for records are visually in NEAR MINT condition, with a very few, scattered, light scuffs.  On playback there was some surface noise -- something thorough cleaning might remedy  (I just buffed them with a micro-fiber cloth to remove fingerprints).  I also noticed a couple of very small splits in the shellac on two sides, but didn't hear them on playback.  Robeson and his accompanist sounded like they were in the same room as I, even on my inexpensive machine.  I ended up listening to all eight sides.

Album is in very good condition.  Paper and half leatherette cover shows storage wear, with damp staining on the back, and rubbed edges and bumped corners.  Someone wrote a circled "52" in ink on both the front and back.  Inside is clean except, again, for some ink marks.  Heavy-duty sleeves are not torn, but have darkened a bit with age.

All-in-all, this set is RARE in this condition, and a perfect vintage addition to any Robeson or spirituals collection.

NOTE:  I DONT GRADE LABELS -- see pictures for that information.  I use the eBay record grading system when listing 78's, which is mostly based on visual observation of the wax, shellac, or vinyl.  KEEP IN MIND THAT ALMOST ALL OLD 78's HAVE SURFACE NOISE WHEN PLAYED ON MODERN EQUIPEMENT (except the extremely well-made records).  It's only distracting surface noise, as well as ticks, pops, clicks or jumps, that may affect grading.

ALL THE RECORDS I LIST COME FROM ONE COLLECTION, THAT OF JAMES M. KENNEY OF NEW WINDSOR, MARYLAND.  HE WAS ONE OF THE EAST COAST'S LARGEST AUDIO AND ELECTRONICS COLLECTORS.
