THIS IS A PRETTY RARE 1932 RCA 12" PICTURE DISC 67-2000a
THE PAUL WHITEMAN ORCHESTRA
"A NIGHT WITH PAUL WHITEMAN AT THE BILTMORE."
RELEASED EARLY 1933. The recordings were made at the BILTMORE HOTEL in NEW YORK CITY.
The art work for the picture disc is a neat Art Deco design of the period (just after they built the Chrysler Building.
WHITEMAN was at the time the most popular orchestra in the States, the (white) man who had tamed the jungle music of jazz and called himself the "KING OF JAZZ".
His orchestra is where Bing Crosby got his start.
This record is in excellent condition, it is part of a large private collection that we purchased recently, it was stored in a very fine leather case with other treasures which I will be listing shortly.
Very clean with a few light surface scratches which do not interfere with play. (check pictures). It plays well with no pops but some surface noise (I am used to the 50s surface, this is the 30s).
It will be shipped in a MOFI liner, and a new white cardboard sleeve.
This is a collector's collectors item, and will not disappoint one who understands and values this amazing early disc technology.

The label is marked along the bottom RCA VICTOR COMPANY, INC., CAMDEN, N.J. The catalog #s are stamped in the dead wax 67 2000A and 67 2000B
