I had 5 brick and mortar stores in Portland, OR, Boise, ID, Fairbanks, AK, and 2 stores in Anchorage, AK. I operated under the name Nickelodeon Records & Tapes from 1973 to 1978, hence the eBay name Original 1976 Nickelodeon Records.

1001 ALBUMS YOU MUST HEAR BEFORE YOU DIE REVIEW Pearl Jam sprouted up largely intact, assembled from the hard rock remnantsof pivotal local acts such as Green River and Mother Love Bone. On their debut Ten, the band recalled the soaring majesty and fierce integrity of original masters like Neil Young and The Doors, while at the same time sounding a battle cry for a powerful new moment in rock 'n roll... ....Ten's punishing power chords, augmented by Mike McCready's searing bluesy licks, were imediately swallowed up by millions of teenagers starving for a new party. The anthemic first single "Alive" perfectly encapsulated the album's great strengths: a sing-along chorus, disturbingly reflective lyrics, and darkly woven guitar parts. Eddie Vedder's painfully captivating baritone pegged Pearl Jam more to the classic rock tradition than did Kurt Cobain's punky howl, which was unveiled the same year on Nevermind. Put together, songs like the growling "Why Go," reverb-drenched "Oceans," and floor-stomping "Porch" oozed a river of grunge, while the single hit "Jeremy" made every shoe-gazing teenager within earshot wonder just for a moment what it would be like to blow your head off in front of your geometry class.
