Philips catalogue No 6308 102 released in 1972.

The only Peddlers album to be entirely made up of Roy Phillips compositions was an ambitious project recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Underneath the assorted strings and timpani was a nice set of new songs making up the last album to feature the three original members of the group.

A Recent Review of this Record.
Described by some as "the band's most ambitious project", for a number of reasons; but primarily it's the involvement of an orchestra to fill out and expand that Peddlers sound (e.g. the Mansfield-produced albums) and also that all of the compositions are by Roy Phillips - and this is their only album where the latter is the case. In these sessions a mixture of vocal and instrumental tracks were recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra; the pick of the tracks are "Under London Lights" and "I Have Seen", both vocal tracks that work so very well with the trio's tight musicianship, the orchestra and Phillip's slightly strange vocalisation all coming together to produce what are, two of the bands strongest recordings.
Now branded with the 'breaks' tag (yes, there are a couple of tasty drum-breaks on this record), the record is the rarest of all Peddlers records and always sells for a hefty price. In this age of tight beats and downtempo Air-inspired 'coffee table' grooves, this album certainly stands the test of time.

I understand that most people interested in a collectable record like this will want to know what it plays like, well before putting it here on eBay I played it all the way through, and apart from the expected small amount of static, which is to be expected, it plays really well.
The condition of this Record is very good, there is no sign of any damage, in fact looking at it (especially the centre label) you would be hard pushed to distinguish it from new. The sleeve is also in very good condition especially for it's age, although the inner sleeve has yellowed which I suppose is to be expected.
This record is phenomenal, you just have to to listen to it to fully appreciate it, probably way ahead of its time when first released. An ideal listening situation would be to pour yourself a drink (your favourite of course) plug in the headphones, forget everything and just enjoy!!
For anyone who has never heard of them, during the late 60's early 70's these were one of the coolest groups around, especially if you like Hammond Organ. The magic of Roys organ playing and old blues soul voice, combined with some real cool Drums & Bass will definately leave you wanting more, but add this to the London Philharmonic and.....................!!
