THE PEEP SHOW
1967 UK POLYDOR 56226
ESPRIT DE CORPS (50 YEARS OLD)
b/w
MIND IN A MIX-UP (1958 MEMPHIS BLUES AGAIN)
THE PEEP SHOW were a very obscure 4 piece Psych Beat outfit from London and this very rare original 1967 Polydor 45 does not surface for sale very often at all,it's not as rare as their only other UK Polydor 45 ''Mazy/Your Servant, Stephen'' but it's heading in that direction.
If you see this 45 for sale it might be advertised as a Psych/Freakbeat record but the A side is quite a strange sounding track that is quite hard to catorigize, the song starts and ends with the haunting sound of a war airaid siren and the acoustic guitar tune and vocals make it sound more like a strange acid psych folk track rather than Freakbeat, the B side is a nice very raw sounding fast paced psychy blues number with plenty of lead guitar.
The vinyl is in brilliant mint- very clean and shiny condition and almost looks brand new and it plays with very little surface noise, the 45 comes in it's original polydor company record sleeve.
All in all this is a nice and rare very obscure Psych Beat oddity from 1967 that very rarely surfaces for sale.
Please feel free to check out my other items as i will be listing some other rare and obscure UK mid/late 1960's 45.
