PEGGY MARCH

Con Los Cruceños Y Ritmo

 “CONTIGO EN LA DISTANCIA”

(AMOR)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original RCA Victor Records very first MONO press released in Chile in 1967 by RCA S.A. Electrónica De Grabaciones Maestras (RCA Chile), made and distributed by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records), licensed from RCA Argentina, catalog number CML-2484-X, with hand etched matrix numbers CML-2484-A AA in Side 1 and CML-2484-A AA in Side 2, with black/silver RCA Victor labels, with silver RCA Records logo. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“CONTIGO EN LA DISTANCIA” is an album originally recorded and released in Argentina in 1966, with Peggy March singing the 12 songs in Spanish, with musical support of the Argentinian trio Los Cruceños and musical direction of Horacio Malvicino, but we had to wait until May 1967 to see this great album by Peggy March released here in Chile and as you can see, if you already know this album, we got it with an UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE, in Argentina it was released with the title “AMOR” (LOVE) but here in Chile they used the title of a song, “CONTIGO EN LA DISTANCIA”. And like usual those years, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of an only piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle with sheets of paper as front and back covers attached to the cardboard in the mouth edge, so 3 sides are opened faking a gatefold cover and kept together for an outer plastic bag. It’s also important to tell that you will read and hear from people who don’t know much about this album that it was only released in Argentina, but that’s not true, this album was also released at least in Chile and Italy. Front cover keeps the same artwork of original Argentinian issue, with the picture of Peggy March and Los Cruceños, tracklist written in Spanish only, the only differences are the Chilean album title and the green rounded RCA Records logo with catalog number at top right corner of this Chilean issue. Back cover has the same black and white pictures of Peggy March with Argentinian singer Palito Ortega and the musical director Horacio Malvicino, but the design is different, it has the Chilean album title at top edge and at the fourth part of the back cover at top right corner it’s the tracklist written in Spanish only with full credits for songwriters. You can see the original front cover and tracklist in this link: http://www.peggymarch.net/pic/pm/various/argentinean/pmaravl3647.htm. In labels album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters of each song. So, here you have the chance to own this interesting record with an UNIQUE COVER, MONO SOUND and the most important, THE ONE AND ONLY ALBUM FULLY SUNG IN SPANISH by PEGGY MARCH!!! WOW!!! Another great FIND!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition, clean, complete, no ring marks, minimal wear in the mouth edge and corners, more evident in the back cover, with a faint age browning and a little writing, “L1” below the word “EN” of the album title. The record is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, but with only some scuffs, light hairlines and very soft scratches hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in absolute NM or NM+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with no marks or writings, only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in superb NM- or NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very light occasional crackles here and there, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, but hard to hear if you are not looking for them, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a great record with a glossy clean look, immaculate labels and superb sound quality after about 52 years, with no distortions, skips or repetitions at all!!! And keep in mind this album has an UNIQUE COVER, it’s a MONO PRESS and it’s the only album Peggy March recorded in Spanish only!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
