Description
Philips, Germany, 1972
VG/ VG+ Light abrasion to cover, some small lamination bubbles at spine and top front. Lp looks clean, has a few mold pops on side one and just a bit of surface noise on side two, nice overall.
In many ways this sounds a bit more like a classical music themed album that has been adapted and electrified to fit the rock idiom, with strong keyboards, organ flute, bass, lead guitar, drums, and some occasional vocals. They play a rendition of Bach's "Toccata" ( different from ELP's "Toccata," which was adapted from a Ginistera piece that was probably inspired by this composition), along with three long pieces featuring flowing symphonic prog keyboard attack and complexities. Soaring progressive, but a bit more toward the classical music, or classically influenced, side of things compositionally.
