I Perigeo si formarono a Roma nel 1971: cinque musicisti professionisti, tutti già ampiamente attivi nei circuiti jazz e rock dell’epoca, che si riunirono in studio per dar vita a una nuova formazione in grado di unire sapientemente i due generi musicali appena citati: forse il primissimo esempio di jazz-rock in Italia, con dichiarate influenze provenienti da Miles Davis e da quel “Bitches Brew” che un paio di anni prima aveva sconvolto il panorama jazzistico a
livello mondiale.A livello di critica i Perigeo riuscirono così a scontentare i puristi di entrambe le fazioni ma, grazie in particolare a un’attività concertistica costante, fecero breccia in un pubblico sempre più vasto, e sono oggi considerati tra gli esponenti di punta del Rock Progressivo Italiano.Abbiamo tutti un blues da piangere” è il loro secondo album, e prosegue in quella lenta ma inesorabile evoluzione che su una solida base rock porterà ilgruppo a limare la componente jazz in favore di quella fusion, e di una ricerca melodica sempre più predominante. Nelle sette tracce di questo LP il suono è ancora spigoloso e oscuro, complice una tensione costante che accompagna l’intero lavoro.Questa ristampa è frutto di una speciale collaborazione tra due realtà ormai consolidate negli ambiti jazz e rock progressivo, rispettivamente Schema Records e BTF; un perfetto connubio stilistico, per una ristampa su LP che mancava da oltre 25 anni!

Perigeo were founded in Rome in 1971: five professional musicians, all of them already largely active in the jazz and rock circuits of those years, who gathered in the studio to wisely blend together the two aforementioned music genres: this is probably the first example of jazz-rock music in Italy, admittedly influenced by Miles Davis and that legendary “Bitches Brew” that just two years earlier had shocked the jazz scene worldwide.Purists among the music critics were then unhappy about such an ‘unpure’ mix but, thanks also to an incessant live activity, Perigeo managed to increase their popularity day by day, and they are today considered among the most important Italian Progressive Rock representatives.“Abbiamo tutti un blues da piangere” is their second album, which continues a slow but steady evolution over a solid rock basis, moving from the originary jazz component to a growing fusion side, with an increasingly dominant search of melody. In the seven tracks of this LP the sound is still edgy and dark, thanks to a constant tension that never stops until the end of the last song.This reissue is the result of a unique collaboration between two long-established companies in the jazz and progressive rock areas, named respectively Schema Records and BTF; a perfect blend of style, for a LP reissue that was missing for over 25 years!
