PERREY KINGSLEY 1966 in Sound From Way Out LP Vanguard VSD-7922 Moog Art Rare! A truly strange, experimental and wonderful adventure in electronic sound recording. Gershon Kingsley and Jean Jacques Perrey met in 1965. Kingsley was a Juilliard School of Arts graduate who shared an interest in electronic composition with Perrey, who was from northern France. Kingsley later went on to enthusiastically embrace synthesizers and other forms of sound reproduction. From the jacket cover: "Presented here is the electronic Au Go Go that might be heard soon from the jukeboxes at the interplanetary way stations where space ships make their rest stops. The idiom is strange and yet familiar: here a touch of rock, there a touch of bossa nova, a whiff of the blues and a whiff of Tchaikovsky. But the atoms of pop music are exploded into fresh patterns." "What is heard on this record represents the intricately condensed and selected product of 275 hours of work in the laboratory and the use of several miles of magnetic tape. As for the tools used, they were several tape recorders turning at exactly the same speed, an 18-channel mixer, prerecorded tapes and a plain ordinary pair of scissors." Record Grading

(S) SEALED: Never opened.
(M) MINT: Vinyl is new and unplayed. Only sealed records are graded Mint.
(NM) NEAR MINT: Vinyl is nearly perfect and shows no obvious signs of wear. Cover has no creases, writing, seam splits or significant wear.
(EX) EXCELLENT: Vinyl may have a sleeve scuff or two but looks and plays like a nearly-new record. Cover looks great and shows almost no signs of handling. This is a nice keeper copy.
(VG) VERY GOOD to (VG+) VERY GOOD PLUS: Vinyl shows a bit more wear and/or sleeve scuffs. It might crackle, pop or click in places, but the surface noise does not overwhelm the music. Cover shows slightly greater use, such as ring wear, soft corners,split seams, etc. This is a nice play copy.
(G) GOOD: Vinyl has defects that might produce significant surface noise. Cover has more than normal wear and tear.
(P) POOR: Vinyl and/or cover is in very rough shape. Valued usually as a placeholder until a better copy is located.
