PETE BROWN & PIBLOKTO - Things May Come And Things May Go But The Art School Dance Goes on Forever
Overall great condition1970 UK 1st press prog/psych gem,
Year/Label : 1970 UK HARVEST Label number : SHVL 768 Matrix numbers : SHVL 768 A - 1G, SHVL 768 B - 1G Stampers : 1 A / 1 RExcellent (EX) condition vinyl - completely flat, weighty and retaining a nice jet black lacquered sheen with earliest UK press "-1G/-1G" matrices. In normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as virtually unmarked and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that the occasional wispy hairline and very faint small surface scuff come into view - each non-obvious, non-feelable, and appearing to be purely superficial. The labels are in excellent (EX) condition - with close inspection it is possible to identify a few faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect. Note that each label is devoid of the usual "EMI" boxed text - an indicator of a true UK 1st pressing (along with the "1G" dead wax matrix stampers). The condition of the outside-laminated gatefold sleeve is very good plus (VG+) - firm edges, mostly unscuffed apart from a 2cm scuff/split in the middle of the reverse side top edge and continuous scuffing on the right of the reverse side bottom edge which has been sellotaped. There is also some very mild fraying on the bottom 8cm of the front-side opening edge. Apart from these blemishes the condition of the gatefold is excellent, with a rigid spine, well defined right angled corners with barely any rubbing at all, no cardboard creasing. minimal laminate lifting (just a 10 cm thin strip on the reverse side bottom edge), no unwanted writing, and apart from the aforementioned bottom edge thin strip of sellotape the interior of the gatefold is in great shape. The art work, colours, photos, and text remain vibrant and perfectly defined. Impressive, excellent (EX) sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion or obvious clicks - great tone and crystal clear audio reproduction with excellent stereo sound quality throughout. If you listen carefully you may come across some very occasional and very low level background crackle but any such instances are very minor and do not impinge upon the excellent listening experience with every track a great listen. What a brilliant and underrated psych/prog LP this is! Comes with original excellent condition poly-lined EMI/Harvest advertising inner sleeve with no side splits, no tears or edge fraying, barely any age discolouration and just some occasional and mild creasing towards the corners. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. An overall lovely copy of this 1970 UK 1st press and vastly underrated prog/psych gem, becoming much harder to get hold of now.
