Description
NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL – PHOTOGRAPHS BY PETER BESTE
Gallery Speak For, Tokyo, 2005 First Edition, 80 pages # 2064/3000
Includes photos of 1349, Satyricon, Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, Taake, Carpathian Forest, Immortal, Mayhem, Enslaved, Thorns, Emperor and Windir.
With a preface by Aaron Aites, director of the documentary "Until The Light Takes Us". The Japanese translation of the text is included as an insert.
This is the original first edition of Peter Beste's infamous book which predates the expanded VICE edition by three years. This edition was published exclusively in Japan to coincide with the exhibitions of Beste's photos in Tokyo and Osaka from April to June 2005 in a numbered edition of 3000 copies. The book itself comes packaged in a black cardboard box that unfolds to a large upside down cross. This box is sealed with a large sticker showing the title details and the Nattefrost photo as well as the individual number.
Condition is new and still sealed! The detailed auction photos come from my opened personal copy of the book. The one for sale here is still sealed in plastic. The black box has a minor imperfection in one corner - see photos.
The book ships from Berlin, Germany.
