Serious psych collectors will know exactly what we have here. For auction, a super rare copy of the title track from the film Bedazzled, written by Dudley Moore and sinisterly 'sung' by Peter Cook. It is utterly magnificent and rightly hailed a genuine classic of the era.
As happened with their 45 "The LS Bumblebee" in seeking to send-up the psychedelic sounds of the times Cook & Moore accidentally created one of the best examples of the genre. "Bedazzled" is a hypnotic wonder.
While the album from which this comes is becoming slightly more available, copies of its standout track on 45 rarely - very rarely - surface at all. Well here is one and and what a copy we have here.
Nothing less than a PROMO version in absolutely fantastic condition. The vinyl on both sides shines bright and glossy, no scratches, scuffs or warp. A short hairline on side two is visible under harsh lighting but this does not effect play in any way. Had you bought this from a shop in 1967 - and very few did - you would not have taken it back. This is in amazing condition for a disc fully 55 years old.
The labels are clean and bold, bearing the famous Decca branding and clearly marked "Demonstration Sample Not For Sale" and printed with the proposed release date 8-12-67. Hopes of Christmas hit! There are no rips, writing or sticker residue on either side.
"You fill me with inertia..." What an absolute classic sound this is.

Even the original birth bag is smart, crisp and free of any damage. Remarkable.
